CENTERVILLE COMMUNITY BAND

We miss being able to assemble and play as a group during this time of a pandemic. In the meantime the membership is meeting periodically via Zoom and Webex meetings. If you would like to participate in these and are not currently receiving an invitation by email you should contact our band administrator, Heidi Cahoon at tboneheidi@hotmail.com
On 22 September we welcomed guest speaker, Jim McCutcheon, to our meeting. Jim gave a thumbnail virtual tour of his store and teaching studio, presented a brief overview of some of his current projects, and then played a few tunes for us on the guitar. Thanks for coming, Jim!

Here is a March 2014 recording of Jim McCutcheon performing the Mason Williams hit, "Classical Gas" with the Miami Valley Symphony at the Dayton Art Institute. Enjoy!
CLASSICAL GAS
UPCOMING PERFORMANCES

CANCELLED  UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE- STAY TUNED (We hope to be able to resum early next year.)
The Centerville Community Band was founded as a summer band in 1983 by Mr. Wayne Markworth, former Director of Centerville High School Bands. After the second summer about a dozen members decided to make it a year-round band with Mr. Markworth serving as director; he then turned it over to Diana Wightman. The  Band was and is supported in part by the City of Centerville. From the original  20+ members we have grown to more than 75 strong from various parts of the Miami Valley. The band rehearses throughout the year on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Centerville High School orchestra room. In additional to a summer schedule of concerts at Stubbs Park, the band performs throughout the area supporting civic ceremonies and community events..
